Independent films are made without funding from major studios, and therefore often have considerably lower budgets. Makers of indie films often go without pay until the film is sold, and rely heavily on outside financial support to help bring the film into the world. Independent films are often funded by a combination of grants, sponsorships, and crowdfunding (donations from supporters like you!). Without outside financial support, documentaries such as Unlearn would never see the light of day. Please contact info@unlearndoc.com to see how you can help ensure this important story gets told.
Unlearn will show our audience concrete steps they can take to enact real, lasting change.
Education of the general populace is necessary to show the long-term consequences of bigotry, hate, and oppression. White Americans must unlearn the stereotypes and misinformation taught about BIPOC or the current patterns of oppression, resistance, and unrest will persist. Unlearn will provide a platform for discussing questions about inequity and generational wealth, the possibilities of equal access to education, and the work that still needs to be done before BIPOC and white Americans can truly be equal. As indie filmmakers, we rely on support from our audience to bring this film to the world. Every donation counts.
